University College Dublin (UCD) combines the excitement of living in Dublin with the convenience and space of studying at a vibrant suburban campus only 3 miles from the city center. With over 26,000 students, UCD is the largest university in Ireland, with the most international student body.

Some of the subjects you can choose from at UCD, across multiple disciplines, include architecture, history, English literature, languages, politics, economics, geography, music, philosophy, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. UCD divides into six colleges: Arts, Celtic Studies and Humanities; Quinn School of Business; Engineering and Architecture; Agriculture, Food Science, and Health; Social Sciences and Law; Science.

  • Quinn School of Business - rated one of the best business schools in Europe. It is accredited in Europe through EQUIS and in the US through AACSB. You’ll have access to more than 60 second and third-year courses in business, along with a required course on Irish culture and history, designed specifically for study abroad students.

  • Virtual Internship Option: Replace one elective course with a virtual internship through Arcadia to add international professional experience to your resume. See the Internship Placement Guide for information about placement details.

  • Over 140 clubs and societies - the vibrant campus life will be easy to tap into, especially with UCD’s multi-million euro Sports Facility.

  • Science Research opportunities during the semester specifically for study abroad students through attachment to an active research group in the College of Science.

Excursions & Activities

Arcadia includes many fun and exciting excursions, events, and activities - many of which are free and included in your program!  You also have a range of optional excursions and events to join such as the exciting Regional Excursion where we bring together students from our England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland programs as well as a continental Europe event every Fall and Spring semester. From visiting film locations for Game of Thrones to checking out Newgrange - a burial tomb older than the Egyptian Pyramids - there is something for everyone. Contact your program manager for specific program excursions.

All Arcadia excursions are designed to be fun, interactive learning opportunities where you can visit places of exceptional interest in the country and enjoy experiences that help to illuminate your studies. You could also earn a Co-curricular Learning Certificate (CLC).
